Death Penalty Thrown Out in CO due to use of Bible by Jury

The Christian Right will go nuts of this. But, I believe the Colorado Supreme Court was correct in throwing out the Death Penalty verdict because the jury consulted a Bible, especially the book of Leviticus to influence the verdict.

State law says you cannot bring outside sources materials in to the jury room to influence the outcome. However, you can come with any beliefs including those influenced by Scripture. They simply broke the rules. Of course, Judge Roy Moore Sect of Christians will decry this as a travesty in the courtroom where people of faith are silenced.

However, they would be wrong. From the news report it does not sound like sound exegetical analysis was done on the Leviticus passage anyway.
