David Dark, author of the wonderful Everyday Apocalypse, releases The Gospel According To America: A Meditation On A God-Blessed, Christ-Haunted Idea on February 19. It should be excellent.
Andy Crouch, of the infamous Chrisitanity Today expose on the emerging church has a wonderful article in the CT, called Stone-Washed Worship commenting on the desire of many newer churches to appear "authentic" as another marketing strategy and part of the broader consumer culture.
It is a great (and short) read!

Suburban Nation: The Rise of Sprawl and the Decline of the American Dream by Andres Duany, Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk, Jeff Speck, which is an excellent account of the destruction of the neighborhood and rise of the suburban hell model of growth and how it must be reversed for smart growth
