On Tuesday Kristi and I did something we have not done since our daughter Gillian was born on December 11, 2001. We both spent the night away from our children. That is right in almost 3 years, this was our first night fully alone.
My parents spent the night being conned (and not minding) by my children while Kristi and I went to a bed and breakfast for some much needed rest and relaxation. It rained the whole time, but that was okay. At least the hottub was sheltered.
Of course, Aedan had been sick (high temp and ear infection) so we could not sleep as late as we desired and Kristi had her mind on that. Oh well.
Hopefully it will not be another 3 years.
