Democrats and Republicans have been buying up tickets and "scalping" them as part of fundraisers. Hillary Clinton , DN.Y., and Rick Santorum, R-Pa show that such behavior crosses party lines. Bono is not a fan of the practice. I hope he preaches at them.

statements on U2 shows as political fundraisers.'We're posting the statement here because we've had a number of emails expressing concern about certain media stories people have read. Jamie Drummond, Executive Director of DATA (debt AIDS trade Africa), the Africa Advocacy group co-founded by Bono said this earlier
today:'Throughout the U2 tour, politicians from both sides have been
organizing fundraisers at the venues or around specific shows. Neither DATA or Bono are involved in these and they cannot be controlled. The U2 concerts are categorically not fundraisers for any politician - they are rock concerts for U2 fans.'Don't believe everything you read!

Yeah, I laughed when I saw Bono speaking out about Hillary. I figured he wouldn't mind. When I did a bit more looking I saw Republicans and Democrats doing it. I wonder when a professional sports franchise will speak out about being used as a fundraiser? Or perhaps a restaurant, hotel, convention center, University, etc. I just think Bono gets a bit too into it. People will fundraise off anything...art, speakers, books. It is not like most speaking engagements and entertainment are not susceptible to this.
