mileage requirements as part of bailout?

Hey Congress, if you are going to give the behemoths money how about requiring higher gas mileage standards. Don't just talk about green, hybrid and electric vehicles which cost a lot to develop (and are good things). Make them up the mileage on every vehicle to a minimum standard, like the old days.

It would cost very little to tweak the engines and you can make it happen.

Will you? Of course not.
